This series will merge art techniques from Robin Valenzuela and compassion-focused mindfulness from Valarie Smith, LPC. While your verbal participation will not be required, it will be encouraged. This class is a safe space to unleash creativity, connect with self and community, and increase our awareness of Color&Compassion.
LESSONS ON STAYING GROUNDED:
In this workshop, we’ll paint a canvas of colorful fireworks that represent challenges in life that often cause anxiety and “emotional explosions.” We’ll explore ways to stay grounded when we really want to explode by adding meditative dot art to symbolize stars, or other constant sources of light in our lives. The final work will serve as a reminder to focus more on our stars rather than on struggles.
