This play centers around Miranda Stockman, a doctor, who discovers that a local factory, owned by her husband’s adoptive mother/father, is polluting the local water supply that affects the town’s major source of income, a local Spa. People travel from all over the bathe in the springs for medical purposes. The Spa brings tourists who shop and dine in town and stay at local hotels. Miranda’s brother, Peter, is the local mayor and the chairman of the board of directors for The Spa. He works to censor Miranda from publishing her findings in a local paper, operated at the college in town.
