• More than 720 000 people die due to suicide every year.
• Suicide is the third leading cause of death among 15–29-year-olds.
• For every suicide there are many more people who attempt suicide. A prior suicide attempt is an important risk factor for suicide in the general population.
Suicide is a tragedy that affects families, communities and entire countries and has long-lasting effects on the people left behind.
Introducing Finney County’s 1st annual walk for suicide awareness. Alex’s Walk For Life; We are walking and raising money for suicide awareness in hopes to reach those who are struggling and needing help.
Alex was a sweet handsome boy who passed away at the age of 15. He grew up in Holcomb with a loving mom and two brothers! He was a boy of many things from his love of reptiles to shooting, fishing and much more. He was a beautiful soul who enjoyed helping others. Alex had a loving family and a bright future ahead of him, he just couldn’t find his way through the pain. Many people face similar situations, where they can’t navigate through their problems and pain anymore; but there is hope!
Talking to someone and speaking out is the first step.
