Boozy Book Club is back with Rance the Science Guy and Michael Crichton!

We are incredibly thankful for all the new book club hosts and themes we have welcomed aboard as this little idea has grown. It’s been extremely inspiring and touching to see people get excited talking about all sorts of different books and we love how it helps bring another event that is not a typical “bar” event! For those who do not already know, Boozy Book Club is a casual monthly installment book club that typically meets the last Wednesday of every month. It’s an event for people to meet to discuss books, life, and everything in between! Each installment of The Boozy Book Club comes with question starters for tabletop discussion and features a special one-night-only mix drink inspired by the book.

For April, Rance has picked a book that is sure to keep the readers engaged, State of Fear by Michael Crichton. A physicist dies in Paris. A mysterious buyer purchases deadly cavitation technology built to his specifications in the juggles of Malaysia. Thus begins our story. State of Fear is Michael Crichton’s most wide-ranging thriller; taking the reader from the glaciers of Iceland to the volcanoes of Antarctica, from the Arizona desert to the deadly jungles of the Solomon Islands, from the streets of Paris to the beaches of Los Angeles! The novel races forward taking the reader on a rollercoaster thrill ride of eco-terrorists’ plot of mass murder in attempts to publicize the danger of global warming, all while keeping the brain in high gear.
