Take A Class
IIn addition to showcasing exhibitions, GCA offers art classes for children, adults, and families. Walk-ins are welcome, but it’s best to book in advance.
Children’s classes are available for kids five and up. Adult workshops are offered year-round and designed for individuals over the age of 16. Guests over 21 are allowed to bring beverages. The gallery hosts watercolor classes, blushing workshops, and acrylic pouring demonstrations.
GCA also offers family classes to participants looking to play, explore and create arts while bonding as a family. Different monthly classes are on offer and participants are allowed to choose programs they think are best suited to them.
Field trips are also provided to local schools, where they get to have a free art lesson and a mini-tour of the gallery. On these tours, a minimum of 10 students are required for students to get a free art lesson. However, students looking to take mini-tours of the gallery have no minimum number restrictions.

Art Kits
Adult and children workshops are also offered throughout the year. GCA provides art kits to participants and tutorials on their Facebook page and YouTube channel that are easy to follow. This allows participants to paint from the comfort of their homes.
Painting Parties
Organize birthday parties and gatherings with GCA’s painting parties. Participants are supplied with drawing tools, instructions and venues for the party.
GCA also provides decorations and refreshments for groups and individuals holding painting parties. A typical kids’ party lasts for two hours, while an adult party lasts for two and a half hours.
Experience First Friday
On the first Friday of the month, join the GCA crew for its First Friday Art Walk. Starting at 7 pm, tour various Garden City locations while learning about the unique artwork on display. The art tour is free to join in-person or virtually through GCA’s Facebook and Youtube Channels.

If you are only in town for a few days, be sure to check out everything that’s going on over at Garden City Arts. View their calendar of events for all of their in-person and virtual exhibits and family-friendly activities. From watercolor workshops to Art in the Park classes, the crew at GCA is always planning exciting cultural events.
Watercolor workshops are held monthly and instructors cover basic art techniques and offer tips on how to perfect your drawings. They also provide step-by-step instructions and allow participants to make their own changes as they see fit.
Art in the Park classes are held annually on the fourth Saturday of June. GCA combines the event with live music, food and free family arts and crafts projects.
Other activities held at this event includes Artapalooza which includes face paintings and take-home projects for kids. There is also an artapalooza adult area that offers art-inspired carnival games.

Garden City Arts is located at 318 North Main Street in Garden City, KS. The gallery is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 1 pm until 5 pm. General admission is free. Classes and workshop prices may vary.
