Historical Museum
The Finney County Historical Museum is THE place to learn about Finney county’s rich cultural past.
The museum provides long-term and temporary exhibitions that draw a huge variety of visitors curious about the social, cultural and natural history of Southwest Kansas.
Learn about Kansas icons such as CJ Buffalo Jones. Learn about the Spirit of the Plains and have a look at the world’s largest hairball.
Open 1-5 p.m. all through the winter. In summer, the museum hours are: Monday-Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sundays 1-5 p.m. Admission is free.
The museum also includes the historic William D. and Luticia Fulton House, dating to 1884; the 19th Century Pleasant Valley School; the Leola Howard Blanchard Research Library; a meeting room available for public booking; a unique museum gift shop and a collection of artifacts estimated at 100,000 in number.
