Garden City
Community Theatre
Welcome to Finney County and Garden City, Kansas! Visitors will find a lot to see and do here. From our international cuisine to our expansive zoo and the city’s popular water park, Parrot Cove, you won’t have a moment of boredom during your stay.
We want to share one home-grown attraction that both draws our community together and welcomes our guests is the Garden City Community Theatre—an organization whose members stage a play nearly every year. And because it’s been a while since our last performance, everyone is ready to try out for roles in upcoming productions.
About the GCCT
The Garden City Community Theatre began in 1996 as a creative outlet for the many talented individuals who call Garden City and Finney County home. The goal was to raise funds for the Garden City Community Church, where the performances were to occur.
Garden City Community Theatre is open to all participants from post-kindergarten through adulthood. Plays and musicals are performed in the Community Theatre and are chosen by the current director. There is no fee to participate, but all cast members assist with ticket sales and set aside time for set construction and tear-down on strike day.
In past years, the group has staged plays like Oliver! (in 2019), The Music Man (2017), and Making Change, an adaptation of 9 to 5 (2016).
