The Garden City Flea Market
The Garden City Flea Market is a staple attraction each summer. The Finney County Historical Museum hosts an array of vendor merchandise and gently-used items for sale. This festival has grown bigger every year since it’s humble beginning in 2010. It is not uncommon to meet attendees that travel across the United States for this outdoor festival.
This Flea Market of Antiques, Collectibles, Art and Crafts draws in crowds of more than 4,000 people is open with gently-used merchandise for sale.
There is plenty to choose from, with over 4,500 square feet of flea market bargains to shop through. The museum patio and one of their conference rooms are filled to the brim with merchandise gifted from community members.
60-plus vendors sign up for the festival each year. These booths are spread along the sidewalks as you enter through the Lee Richardson Zoo arches and offer an extensive array of hand-made and commercial goods and services. These wares range from beautiful antiques and metal sculptures to homemade candy and freshly made pies. There has even been photo booths and massage therapy booths at past festivals. You’ll find vendors from over twenty Kansas communities that look forward to the flea market each year. This flea market boasts a wonderful blend of old antiques and modern merchandise.
When is the Flea Market?
The Garden City Flea Market runs each summer on the second Saturday of July. The shopping hours are generally from 8 am to 2 pm.
This one-day event is free to the public. The entry and exit are through the Lee Richardson Zoo entrance. The flea market committee also offer a shuttle service that runs all day between the entrance gates and the Finney County Exhibition Building parking lot.
